Stockholm Fashion Week: Day three - Stylein

A fantastic oriental touch on SFW catwalk.

I couldn't wait to see Stylein collection, especially after having met the designer's mother during Swedish Hasbeens show. I haven't wait in vain, the SS 12 collection is divine!

On the catwalk a sinuous, elegant, sometimes supercilious woman; a mix of Gong Li's oriental beauty and Sylvie Guillem's strong expressiveness. Elin Nyström couldn't have celebrated in a better way the 10th anniversary of her brand.

As we can imagine from the name, the collection "Movement" was built around the concept of motion, that is expressed by an alternation of silhouettes, forms and volumes.
Hugging skirts are mixed with kimono jackets, light-volume coats, asymmetrical mini dresses, palazzo pants and long siren gowns.

The sequence of the colors is astonishing: powder, light grey, champagne and black are alternated on the catwalk creating refined looks from which emerge a Japanese flair, created by the geometrical cuts of the jackets and by the deep slit of dresses and skirts.

I adored the champagne plissé jacket, so haunting, and the idea of opening the show with a short film featuring Nadja Sellrup, the principal dancer of Kunlinga Ballet. An ode to the dance and to the beauty of movement.

Gonne fascianti si alternano così a fluide giacche a kimono, cappotti dai volumi impalpabili, abitini asimmetrici, pantaloni a palazzo e lunghi abiti a sirena.

I am so not cool enough to wear that first one - I would look like I were wearing a bathrobe. Someday I want to be tall and really thin. :)

Thanks for your comment.
