And it is finally here, Kim Kardashian is on the cover of vogue, and everybody has something to say about it.
E finalmente Kim Kardashian è riuscita ad apparire sulla cover di Vogue America, o ovviamente tutti hanno qualcosa da dire.
Just a few days ago I was reading a really interesting article by Kerry Pieri on Harper's Bazaar called "what allowing Kim Kardashian to become a style icon says about us all" and thinking about the new fashion-icon status of Kim Kardashian. "The same woman resoundingly chided for wearing finger-to-ankle florals well into her pregnancy? One who wore bandage dresses almost exclusively until a few years ago" to use Pieri's word, can be an icon? When out of the blue she appeared on the cover of vogue with her husband to be. Since Friday, when the news was revealed, I've been seeing everyone talking and writing about it: all the comments in the world from "this is a gorgeous cover" to "vogue just wen downhill, why? You're not US weekly".
To me this cover is not shocking at all. It is clear that Anna Wintour wants people to talk and picking the #worldsmosttalkedaboutcouple she couldn't go wrong. And to be honest this picture is better than many others I've seen recently. And what do you think? Is this Kardashian's ultimate step to be in the fashionista's Olympus or is it just a smart Wintour's marketing move? Time will tell..
Alcuni giorni fa stavo leggendo su Harper's Bazaar un articolo molto interessante firmato da Kerry Pieri "cosa dice su di noi il fatto di aver fatto diventare Kim Kardashian un'icona di stile" e pensavo a Kim Kardashian e al suo nuovo fashion-status. Possiamo dire che sia un'icona? "La stessa donna rimproverata per indossare un completo floreale nonostante il nono mese di gravidanza? La stessa che fino a poci anni fa ha indossato quasi solamente vestiti bandage?" per dirla come Kerry Pieri. E all'improvviso, eccola apparire sulla copertina di Vogue insieme al futuro marito. Da venerdì, quando è stata lanciata la notizia, ho sentito e letto qualsiasi tipo di commento in merito, da "è una copertina favolosa" fino a "Vogue è alla frutta, perchè? Non siete US weekly".
Secondo me questa cover non è così scioccante, è chiaro che Anna Wintor vuole che la gente parli del suo giornale e per questo non poteva fare scelta migliore che mettere in copertina la coppia di cui tutti parlano (e sparlano). E onestamente questa foto è migliore di molte altre che ho visto negli ultimi mesi. Voi che ne dite? La cover di Vogue è l'ultimo gradino che porterà Kim Kardashina nell'Olimpo delle fashioniste, oppure è solo una mossa di marketing della Wintour? Ai posteri l'ardua sentenza..
